My wife Ruth and I had known John for a number of years and when we moved back into the Gettysburg area we wanted some work done on our house. The first job we got John to do for us was in 2016 when he built a roof over our porch. The work was excellent, and we were very pleased. So, naturally when we decided to finally finish out our basement in Spring of 2018 John was the contractor that we wanted to do the job. The planning and laying out of the job was part of the project that my wife and I knew nothing about. John was very helpful, he gave us lots of needed advice and even recommended and allowed us to meet his subcontractors for jobs like plastering, electrical work and plumbing. When the project began John was right on time and worked long days from start to finish. We saw that his work was very meticulous and precise. He paid particular attention to neatness and cleanliness in our basement. As the project went on he offered great bits of advice to us on what he thought would look nice and what would work. He did most of the work himself from building shelves for storage to painting and staining. John finished our basement very close to his estimated date. We were extremely pleased with the finished product. We highly recommend John for all remodeling and building needs!

Mr. Yocum was our contractor/builder for our new – not remodeled- master bathroom. He was very helpful in the design process, offering recommendations and advice throughout. We met with the electrical and plumbing subcontractors, who were equally professional. John’s planning is thorough, his work meticulous. This job required new windows and doors, replacement of vinyl siding, raising a floor, lowering a ceiling, tile and more, all of which were completed within his estimated time frame and cost. The quality of his work is excellent, his attention to detail exceptional. We were so pleased with the new bathroom that we are having him update the master bedroom with new floor, paint, and doors to provide a completely new master suite. We highly recommend John and are looking forward to working with him in the future.

Mr. Yocum acted as our general contractor and builder for our latest home projects including a kitchen remodel, garage construction and extensive renovations of our homes existing structures. He scheduled all subcontractors, procured materials and scheduled all work efficiently. His personal work of carpentry, building, cabinetry installation and tiling was always performed professionally and with integrity. It is important to us that we preserve the historic quality of our home and his attention to detail always makes a renovation look like it has always been there. We were happy with the price, quality, timing and professionalism of John’s contracting services and would hire again.

My husband and I had John tile our foyer. He was knowledgeable about the products he used and made several helpful suggestions. John created several custom made thresholds that are both attractive and functions. We were able to continue to use this high traffic area in a limited way as John worked on the project. He was finished in the time he had estimated. We are pleased with the job and would not hesitate to use John again in the future.

John provided us with a gorgeous office remodel, true craftsmanship in museum display showcases, rain gutters and downspouts replaced as well as roof repairs. Excellent quality work.
